Informazioni sulla tenuta e sulla cuvée
Ever since being taken over in 2016 by an American sommelier, this small four-hectare domain, situated close to Vinsobres, has been producing remarkable cuvées. Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvèdre grapes are layered on terraces, which have a mixed terroir of clay, limestone, sand and pebbles. The higher altitude of the Vinsobres hills and exposure to the Mistral wind helps to preserve an exquisite freshness in the wines. The domain is in the process of converting to organic farming practices, and they employ a traditional and qualitative winemaking method in the cellar. The grapes are handpicked using small 20kg baskets, sorted by hand and vinified plot by plot in concrete vats, followed by ageing half the wine in new oak barrels.
The final product is a charming wine with an aroma of fine spices and notes of dark fruits, garrigue and black olives. It offers an opulent and bright palette, yet it is also light and structured by ripe tannins. A fine choice which can be fully appreciated after being stored in the cellar for a few years.
