Bret Brothers

Bret Brothers was created with the view to producing fine terroir wines in the Mâconnais. Given that the principle of a négoce is for a producer to buy grapes from another grower, there has to be a rigorous process for ensuring a truly fine wine. The Bret Brothers are demanding in their criteria; this way, they can make cuvées as good as those from their Domaine de la Soufrandière.

The Bret Brothers domain was founded in 2001 by brothers Jean-Philippe and Jean-Guillaume Bret. They are also the brothers behind the Domaine de la Soufrandière. Their objective has been clear from the beginning: to create specially selected high quality wines under strict and precise specifications. The Bret brothers buy unharvested grapes and then vinify them themselves. Some of their cuvées have organic certification.

WHAT THE EXPERTS SAY...

BETTANE & DESSEAUVE

“The Bret Brothers are never lacking in ideas or inventiveness, and they’ve become go-to names of the Mâconnais thanks to their sharp mastery of biodynamics.”

LA REVUE DU VIN DE FRANCE

“The richness of the 2018 vintage, all organically certified, makes itself known. The 85-year-old vines used for Les Quarts Millerandée come through with impressive depth and a creamy style.”
