Information
The Bret Brothers domain was founded in 2001 by brothers Jean-Philippe and Jean-Guillaume Bret. They are also the brothers behind the Domaine de la Soufrandière. Their objective has been clear from the beginning: to create specially selected high quality wines under strict and precise specifications. The Bret brothers buy unharvested grapes and then vinify them themselves. Some of their cuvées have organic certification.
Sitting at the foot of Vergisson, Les Crays has a superb position on a sloped, clay-limestone terroir, giving its wines that all important minerality. A dominant tension brings a welcome dynamic quality to this structured wine. Its full aromatic profile and character are only revealed after several years in the cellar however, so be patient! This wine is the product of manual harvests and vinification in demi-muids and pièces bourguignonnes for 11 months.
