Information
The Bret Brothers domain was founded in 2001 by brothers Jean-Philippe and Jean-Guillaume Bret. They are also the brothers behind the Domaine de la Soufrandière. Their objective has been clear from the beginning: to create specially selected high quality wines under strict and precise specifications. The Bret brothers buy unharvested grapes and then vinify them themselves. Some of their cuvées have organic certification.
A leading Burgundy trading house, Bret Brothers proudly showcase the great terroir of Haut de Fleurie. The Gamay vines, averaging 30 years of age, nestle in the pink granite of the Poncié area at an altitude of around 280 metres, and benefit from a south-westerly exposure. The trading house is committed to working with grapes sourced from healthy, sustainable vineyards. The hand-picked fruit undergoes carbonic maceration for ten days, followed by fermentation and ageing in eight-year-old casks.
The bright red colour reveals an expressive bouquet, combining generous notes of violet and red fresh fruit with subtle hints of spice. The generous and luscious mouthfeel reveals fruity aromas with balanced notes of liquorice leading to an incredibly persistent finish.
