Information
In 2002, Bruichladdich's master distiller Jim McEwan decided he wanted to create the peatiest whisky in the world, adding Octomore to its range range of unpeated (Bruichladdich) and very peated (Port Charlotte) whiskies. In addition to its extraordinary phenol content, Octomore is also characterized by an innovative approach to the blending and ageing of these spirits.
Octomore 11.1 is a very heavily peated whisky produced at the Bruichladdich distillery in Islay. Made with Scottish barley (Concerto and Propino), it was distilled in 2014 and aged for five years in first-fill American oak from Jim Beam, Heaven Hill and Jack Daniels. A limited edition of 30,000 bottles.
