In 2002, Bruichladdich's master distiller Jim McEwan decided he wanted to create the peatiest whisky in the world, adding Octomore to its range range of unpeated (Bruichladdich) and very peated (Port Charlotte) whiskies. In addition to its extraordinary phenol content, Octomore is also characterized by an innovative approach to the blending and ageing of these spirits.

An Islay single malt produced at the Bruichladdich distillery from 2003. This edition, named Dialogos 9.1, was aged for 5 years in ex-bourbon casks and is a “Super Heavily Peated” version of Octomore (156 ppm). Bottled in 2018 and limited to 42,000 bottles worldwide. Bottle equipped with a cork stopper and stamped silver foil seal.
