Information
This co-operative – the oldest in the appellation – was founded in 1932. The producers are able to work with a terroir characterised by its warmth and dryness, and pudding-stone soils from the low ("baixas" in Catalan) Agly valley, in the commune of Rivesaltes itself.
This wine, featuring a predominance of white grapes and some Black Grenache, was produced from a hot, dry and pebbly terroir (Baixas in Catalan) in the Agly Valley, in the commune of Rivesaltes itself. It also comes from the appellation’s longest-standing cooperative which was formed in 1932. In the best years, after the traditional transfer to glass demijohns, it used to be customary for the cellar master to keep back a small volume of the wine in oak barrels.
