Information
Domaine des Malandes in Chablis was created in 1986 by Lyne and Jean-Bernard Marchive. The vineyard spans 27 hectares; the vineyard is managed sustainably, with grass growing between rows and green harvesting. Lyne has been helped by the enologist Guénolé Breteaudeau (formerly at Château Long-Depquit) since 2006. The wines have come a long way in recent years, becoming much more refined and precise.
If this wine only has a ‘villages’ classification, it has turned out to be a little gem. Its original vines benefit from an exposure worthy of a grand cru, at the bottom of the Vaudésir valley (Vaudésir being itself a grand cru). Nicely balanced between a crystalline profile and a mature texture, it reveals a complex bouquet marked by typical Chablis notes (mineral, white fruits, salt) and aromas conferred by its maturation (toasted brioche). This wine can be enjoyed alongside dishes with a salty accents in sauce.
