Information
Domaine des Malandes in Chablis was created in 1986 by Lyne and Jean-Bernard Marchive. The vineyard spans 27 hectares; the vineyard is managed sustainably, with grass growing between rows and green harvesting. Lyne has been helped by the enologist Guénolé Breteaudeau (formerly at Château Long-Depquit) since 2006. The wines have come a long way in recent years, becoming much more refined and precise.
This Chablis is a single-varietal Chardonnay from vines planted between 1976 and 2000 that enjoy a north-western exposure. After a mechanical harvest, Domaine des Malandes opts to vinify the grapes in stainless steel vats. The temperature during fermentation is controlled at 18°C so the grape can express its delicacy and the minerality of its terroir. The wine is bottled after filtering.
In the glass this wine has a pale, yellow colour and a subtle bouquet of white flowers, white fruit, and chalk. On the palate, this characteristic minerality stands out, lingering on a saline finish. We recommend enjoying this cuvée young with dishes like seafood or cheese.
