Information
The vines, some as old as forty years, thrive on thin sandy-silty-clayey soils very rich in limestone. Once they have been hand-picked at peak ripeness, the grapes are carefully vinified as whole bunches. The fruit undergoes a cold pre-fermentation maceration in wooden vats for several days, with regular must pump overs and punching down of the cap. This 100% Pinot Noir is carefully aged in brand new casks for 15 months before bottling.
The deep, dark colour reveals light garnet tints. The intense, expressive bouquet displays notes of black cherry together with subtle hints of liquorice. The full, generous palate affirms the aromas of the nose, complemented by hints of mocha. The velvety tannins delicately lead to a deliciously long, fresh finish. This cuvée can easily be cellared for several years.
