Amrut was founded in Bangalore in 1948 by Shri J.N. Radhakrishna under the name Amrut Laboratories. The distillery initially produced “Indian-made liquor”, foreign spirits such as rum, brandy and, from the 1980s, whisky, all produced in India. The current distillery was built in 1987 and its first single malt launched in Glasgow in 2004 after several years of experimentation.

Amrut Trilogy is a series of three single casks selected in 2015 by La Maison du Whisky, a whisky and spirits importer and distributor founded by Georges Bénitah in 1956. The gift pack includes three bottles—new oak cask #945 (a peated whisky bottled at 100 proof/57.1% ABV), bourbon cask #3433, and bourbon cask #2325.
