Information
Maison Grosperrin was founded by Jean Grosperrin, a distiller since 1981 who moved to Cognac in 1991. The following year, he became a broker, which enabled him to visit a huge number of estates in search of the finest casks. Tired of seeing these end up in blends, he began bottling his own in 1999, providing details on their history, aged and, wherever possible, their vintage. In 2004, after Jean retired, his son Guilhelm took over the business, increasing its stocks and taking charge of selections and all or part of maturation himself.
A cognac from the Island of Oléron in the Bois Ordinaires appellation, distilled in 1991 and bottled by Grosperrin. Although cognac production on the island has declined over the years, the sandy soils result in very high-quality cognacs, often with a marine character.
