Information
Maison Grosperrin was founded by Jean Grosperrin, a distiller since 1981 who moved to Cognac in 1991. The following year, he became a broker, which enabled him to visit a huge number of estates in search of the finest casks. Tired of seeing these end up in blends, he began bottling his own in 1999, providing details on their history, aged and, wherever possible, their vintage. In 2004, after Jean retired, his son Guilhelm took over the business, increasing its stocks and taking charge of selections and all or part of maturation himself.
A Grosperrin Bons Bois cognac distilled in 1979. This batch (No. 253) comes from a property in the very south of Charente and was sold after the death of its last owner in 1983. The cask was bought by their daughter and has been kept in a cellar since 1980.
