An American living in Burgundy, Jonathan Purcell created his small company in 2017. He started by making wine from Beaujolais Gamay in a small cellar in Auxey-Duresses that is roughly one hundred years old and has never seen enzymes or commercial yeast.
Here, we have a pure Gamay made without any additives, bottled without sulphur, fining or filtration.
When tasting the dark, glistening wine, fruity and floral notes rise from the glass followed by cherry notes which quickly become black fruit aromas. The crisp, juicy palate is perfectly balanced between the fruit, acidity, and the fine undercurrent of tannins.
A Gamay that everyone will enjoy, delicious and very easy to drink. To be shared with friends over a cheese and meat board or with grilled poultry.
