Information
Olivier Pithon is the grandson of an Anjou wine grower, and also has a grower for a grandson in the Coteaux du Layon. Having trained among the family vines, and after completing various spells at in other vineyards (including several years in the Bordeaux region), Olivier Pithon settled in Calce, near Perpignan, in 2001. His vineyard, covering just over eight hectares, is farmed biodynamically. Olivier Pithon's wines are authentic, direct and very expressive.
Brother to the renowned Jo Pithon, Olivier Pithon decided to head for the south of France where he crafts his own wines according to thorough growing and meticulous vinification. This is a rosé classified as IGP Côtes Catalanes, and it is made from the local varietals: Mourvèdre and Grenache. The grapes are harvested by hand before a direct pressing.
This is a wine to be enjoyed in its youth and is perfect for sharing. It has a pale, pink colour and an aromatic bouquet marked by notes of red fruit, cinnamon, and cloves. Its round palate is balanced by an acidity that offers persistence and freshness.
We recommend pairing this wine with a tomato-based dish, grilled white meat, or a charcuterie platter.
