Information
A family business since its creation in 1797, Louis Latour is one of the most recognised traders/ famers in Burgundy. It has remained a family enterprise for over two centuries and is thus part of the closed circle of the Henokiens. It is now Florent Latour, representative of the 11th generation who is at its head since the disappearance of his brother Louis Fabrice. The Louis Latour house gradually formed a vast domaine, extending from Chambertin to Chevalier-Montrachet: 48 hectares, 28 in grand crus. It cultivates Pinot Noir for its reds and Chardonnay for its whites. Over the last thirty years, the company has also spread in the Ardèche, in the Var and in the Pierres Dorées region, also producing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The Maison is committed to a more ecologically friendly and respectful terroir by adopting responsible and sustainable agriculture (limitation of pesticides, compost and ploughing of certain parcels).
This cuvée is from the Valmoissine domain, located at an altitude of 500 metres and perfectly exposed to the south. Maison Louis Latour opts for low yields in order to let the grapes express a great concentration and fine maturity. There is then a traditional fermentation in open vats and a maturation of 10-12 months in stainless steel vats, a container which leaves the wine to express its quintessential qualities. It is ruby red in colour with an aromatic bouquet marked by flavourful notes of dark, ripe fruits, herbs and cacao. On the palate, its mellow tannins offer a round and ample texture that will pair well with grilled meat and autumnal vegetable gratins.
