Located in the municipality of Sury-en-Vaux and Maimbray (to the north of Sancerre), Domaine du Pré Semelé was created in the 1940s, with only 3 hectares to begin with. Three generations later, the vineyard spans 20 hectares and the brothers Julien and Clément Raimbault manage the property together. The vineyard is managed sustainably and takes inspiration from organic viticulture. Grass is allowed to grow between rows so as to promote competition and force the roots to dig deep into the soils for their nutrients. In the winery, vinifications are low intervention and natural. The domain's wines are defined by their intensity, finesse and purity. In 2017, the Revue du vin de France named the cuvée ‘Les Chasseigne' the second-best Sauvignon in the world.

Frank and direct yet complemented with a richness on the palate, this wine offers remarkable balance. It is carried by aromas of white-fleshed fruits such as peach and ripe pear. A minerality on the finish lends a good length.
