Information
Olivier Pithon is the grandson of an Anjou wine grower, and also has a grower for a grandson in the Coteaux du Layon. Having trained among the family vines, and after completing various spells at in other vineyards (including several years in the Bordeaux region), Olivier Pithon settled in Calce, near Perpignan, in 2001. His vineyard, covering just over eight hectares, is farmed biodynamically. Olivier Pithon's wines are authentic, direct and very expressive.
Le Laïs (red) is aged for 14 to 18 months in concrete tanks. A complex nose offers aromas of ripe red and black fruit, spicy notes (pepper, liquorice) and garrigue. The palate is rich and harmonious, with mouth-watering fruitiness, with fine freshness, melted tannins and a long finish.
