Information
The Palacios Remondo family can boast a winemaking pedigree dating back to 1651. Today, Alvaro Palacios is at the helm of the family domaine and produces some of Spain’s finest wines. Voted Spain’s most sensational wine producer by Wine Spectator, Alvaro Palacios places particular emphasis on vine management and avoids the use of chemicals wherever possible. His wines have big personalities, just like the man himself.
Vendiama, the youngest wine from well-known producer Alvaro Palacio (Ermita), is a blend of Grenache and Tempranillo. The grapes come from four vineyard parcels, planted at an altitude of 550 metres, in the east of the appellation and the wine is matured for five months in tuns and French barrels. The result is a very balanced and rounded wine with an abundance of fresh and fruity notes. It has an intense, ruby red colour and a powerful nose of plum, tobacco, liquorice and spice. The palate is very fresh with distinguished tannins that enhance the cocoa, spice and plum aromas, and the finish is wonderfully sustained. This wine can be kept for several years.
