Information
It has now been thirty years since Gilles Berlioz changed career paths from landscaping to wine making. Passionate and modest, he is careful in the cultivation of his Chignin terroirs, going as far as to work his land with horses. Converted to organic growing in 2005, this 5-hectare domain has recently been certified biodynamic by Demeter. The wines, vinified as one cuvée per terroir, are wonderfully accomplished, pure, mineral and delicate. They aren't made in large quantities, but these cuvées perfectly represent their terroirs. Impassioned by the evolution of his work, Gilles Berlioz is always looking for new ways to improve his vines and growing techniques, always with the aim of better respecting the nature that surrounds him.
This cuvée is produced from Jacquère grown organically (certified) and biodynamically, on clay-limestone soils. Its low yields and careful vinification result in a vivid expression of place: notes of white fruits, and freshness balanced by a full mouthfeel. With an excellent, clean and precise finish, this is quite simply a sublime wine.
