Information
Olivier Pithon is the grandson of an Anjou wine grower, and also has a grower for a grandson in the Coteaux du Layon. Having trained among the family vines, and after completing various spells at in other vineyards (including several years in the Bordeaux region), Olivier Pithon settled in Calce, near Perpignan, in 2001. His vineyard, covering just over eight hectares, is farmed biodynamically. Olivier Pithon's wines are authentic, direct and very expressive.
This wine is produced from young vines of Grenache noir. This Vin de Pays des Côtes Catalanes was produced with the aim of offering immediate gratification through its fruitiness and roundness. Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan were harvested by hand and vinified following traditional methods before being raised in concrete vats. You will appreciate its ruby red colour, its nose with fruity and floral notes, and its rich palate of red and black fruits. Its roundness and silkiness are balanced by a lovely acidity. Ideal with tapas during an aperitif-dinner, or paired with lamb chops grilled with thyme.
