Alsace Clos du Val d'Eléon Marc Kreydenweiss 2003
The wine
Contrary to Alsatian tradition, which favours single varietals, Marc Kreydenweiss has decided to blend equal proportions of Riesling and Pinot Gris in this wine. They have been grown organically and biodynamically in grey and blue schist soils. The result is strikingly pure, mineral, lively, and incisive. Enjoy with premium fish and other gourmet dishes.
About the Producer Marc Kreydenweiss
Domain Marc Kreydenweiss is a family affair: it was originally created by Marc Kreydenweiss, who then passed the reins over to his son Antoine, seconded by his wife Charlotte and daughters Zoé, Lilou and Léonie. At the foothills of the Vosges, the estate has a wide variety of soils, spans 13.5 hectares and owns four Grands Crus. The vineyard has been farmed biodynamically since 1999 and natural vinifications allow the terroir to shine through in all its typicity and character. We particularly appreciate their refined, concentrated wines which are energized by a nice acidity.
