Arbois Chardonnay Jacques Puffeney 2013
The wine
Discreet but not at all lacking in reputation, the Jacques Puffeney domain in Jura offers a lovely interpretation of Chardonnay. This comes through in its pale, gold colour, and a delicate bouquet marked by citrus and white flower notes. The palate expertly balances butteriness, finesse and a sophisticated, bitter finish.
About the Producer Jacques Puffeney
Created in 1960 by Jacques Puffeney, the domain spans 6 hectares, spread over a dozen parcels. He farmed Poulsard, Pinot Noir, Trousseau, Chardonnay and Savagnin with meticulous care. Puffeney retired in 2014 and sold 4.25 hectares of the domain to Marquis d'Angerville (Volnay, Burgundy). He kept the rest for himself and one of his nephews.
