Vin de Savoie Chignin Gilles Berlioz 2012
The wine
With biodynamic certification, this domaine’s Chignin is a truly delicious wine, lifted by fruity aromas and a low alcohol content. On the palate, the fruit flavours are fully pronounced (ripe white fruits), along with notes of honey and green apple. A delightful wine, the perfect match for fish in butter sauce.
About the Producer Domaine partagé (Gilles Berlioz)
It has now been thirty years since Gilles Berlioz changed career paths from landscaping to wine making. Passionate and modest, he is careful in the cultivation of his Chignin terroirs, going as far as to work his land with horses. Converted to organic growing in 2005, this 5-hectare domain has recently been certified biodynamic by Demeter. The wines, vinified as one cuvée per terroir, are wonderfully accomplished, pure, mineral and delicate. They aren't made in large quantities, but these cuvées perfectly represent their terroirs. Impassioned by the evolution of his work, Gilles Berlioz is always looking for new ways to improve his vines and growing techniques, always with the aim of better respecting the nature that surrounds him.
