Laurent Roumier

In Burgundy, at the heart of the cult Côte de Nuits, Laurent Roumier, part of one of Burgundy’s most well-known families, produces superb wines from Chambolle-Musigny and its surrounding area in the purest tradition; wines which are aromatic, intense and elegant. A discrete signature to discover without delay!

Laurent Roumier, the cousin of Christophe (from the George Roumier domain) has long been associated with his brother. Since 1991 he has managed a four hectare-domain of rented vineyards, which he increased to seven hectares in 2005. The vines, which are 35 years old on average, are tended to with environmentally friendly practices. These vineyards spread over the Bourgogne, Hautes Côtes de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny, Clos Vougeot and Bonnes-Mares appellations. Laurent Roumier traditionally cultivates and vinifies using the old methods of treading and pumping over, without a pre-fermentation "cold soak", followed by a 15 to 18 month maturation in oak casks.
A man of few words, Laurent is fairly secretive when it comes to his "savoir-faire". However, his mastery is highly regarded amongst enlightened connoisseurs. His range includes wines made to be enjoyed soon (La Poirelotte) as well as cuvées with excellent ageing potential. Further information :Read the article about the domain Laurent Roumier on the blog
