Information
Domaine de le Grand’Cor is owned by the Dutraive family. Their Gamay is produced under the Fleurie and the Brouilly appellations. The domain covers 11.7 hectacres and has held organic certification since 2009. Jean-Louis Dutraive does everything he can to allow the terroir be reflected in his wines. He vinifies without the use of sulfites and at low temperatures. He also uses natural yeasts and carbonic maceration. His wines are natural and are neither filtered nor clarified. It is a domain that has now established itself amongst the best that Beaujolais has to offer.
The Cap sur le Blanc cuvée is the fruit of a meticulously crafted process by Jean-Louis and his children, who produce their unique white wine at the Dutraive family trading house. The Chardonnay grapes, sourced in the Beaujolais region, are grown exclusively according to organic farming practices. Neither chemical fertilisers nor weedkillers are used. During the harvest, the fruit is picked entirely by hand, to preserve the quality and aromas of this top-quality raw material. The grapes are then vinified in a traditional, low-intervention fashion.
The bright golden colour reveals an extremely sophisticated bouquet with a well-developed aromatic palette. Aromas of green apple and hazelnut mingle with floral touches and hints of sesame. The rich, concentrated palate reveals great tension, leading elegantly to a savoury, lingering finish.
