Information
The Pinot Noir vines, nestling at the heart of the Chambolle-Musigny appellation, extend over twelve different parcels, grouping nine distinct climats. Two thirds of the vines are over forty years old. To reflect the extent of this unique terroir, the estate has chosen to vinify several cuvées, grouping the terroirs by sector. The winemaking process ends with a precise ageing process, carried out in casks comprising around 20% of new oak. The estate then blends the different wines to make this 100% Pinot Noir cuvée. The name 40 Ouvrées, an old Burgundy measure, references the total surface area of the 12 plots.
The deep red colour reveals a characterful bouquet revealing powerful notes of red fruit such as raspberry, cherry and strawberry. The full and suave palate is enhanced by silky and fine tannins leading to a deliciously long finish. This cuvée promises excellent ageing potential.
