Information
Nestling at Château de Saint-Aubin, at the heart of the emblematic Burgundy winegrowing landscape, the Prosper Maufoux wine house is ideally located on the Route des Grands Crus. Established in 1860, over 150 years ago, it has played a major role in the reputation of Burgundy wines in France and abroad. The House sources its wines from the region’s most famous appellations. Saint-Aubin, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet adorn its cellar. While the family-run business covers the Côte de Beaune, it has also unearthed some truly rare gems in the Côte de Nuits, Côte Chalonnaise and the heart of the Mâconnais. In 2010, the traditional Burgundy House, with its modern, forward-looking approach, was taken over by the Piffaut family, an old Burgundy family involved in the wine industry for over 200 years. The House, certified High Environmental Value, demands and applies sustainable viticulture to its nine hectares of vines. These sustainable viticultural practices, combined with technical advances, enable the production of racy, balanced wines from the finest climates, with great respect for the terroir.
