Information
The Travellers distillery was founded in Belize—where it is the only distillery in the country—in 1953 by Jaime Omario Perdomo. At the time it was created to carry out blending and bottling for the Travellers bar in Belize City, owned by Perdomo and primarily frequented by people visiting the city, hence the name. When supply issues struck, Omario Perdomo, who was soon joined by his sons, contacted Luis Alberto Espat with a view to building a distillery in Belopman, which he eventually bought in 1989. The distillery produces molasses-based rum which is distilled twice in three-column stills.
A Travellers Licors single cask distilled in 2005. Tristan Prodhomme, creator of L’’Esprit rums, is a whisky and rum enthusiast in search of authentic spirits. After opening his shop in Rennes, he began bottling his own rums. A limited edition of 267 bottles.
