The Travellers distillery was founded in Belize—where it is the only distillery in the country—in 1953 by Jaime Omario Perdomo. At the time it was created to carry out blending and bottling for the Travellers bar in Belize City, owned by Perdomo and primarily frequented by people visiting the city, hence the name. When supply issues struck, Omario Perdomo, who was soon joined by his sons, contacted Luis Alberto Espat with a view to building a distillery in Belopman, which he eventually bought in 1989. The distillery produces molasses-based rum which is distilled twice in three-column stills.

Batch One of Travellers 10 Year Old bottled at cask strength by That Boutique-y Rum Company. That Boutique-y Whisky Company is an independent bottler launched in 2012 by the Atom group in Kent, England. The labels on its bottles often make reference to stories and figures from the world of whisky, staged in comical situations. Two other companies, That Boutique-y Rum Company and That Boutique-y Gin Company, also bottle rum and gin. A limited edition of 477 bottles.
