Information
Sempé is a trading house founded in 1934 by Abel Sempé, a future member of the Resistance Movement in the Second World War and later Senator for the Gers. Its eaux-de-vie are mainly from Bas-Armagnac, the appellation’‘s most prestigious cru. The range includes young Armagnacs, very old Armagnacs and vintage Armagnacs chosen for their special qualities.
Maison Sempé is one of the most famous Armagnac bottlers in the world. It sources its eaux-de-vie primarily from Bas Armagnac, the region with the best quality grapes, located in part of the Gers region and in the neighbouring Landes area. White wines with a low alcohol content are favoured and distilled only once at between 53% and 63%. The cellar masters carefully select and bottle Armagnacs that respect founder Abel Sempé’’s focus on flavour, roundness and length.
