Information
Domaine du Bouchot stretches over ten hectares near the village of Saint-Andelain. Antoine Gouffier, who grew up along the banks of the Loire river, decided to up sticks at the age of 21 and discover the passionate wine communities in New York, California, the Middle-East, Argentina and South Africa where he learnt all kinds of vinification techniques. After getting married, he decided to return to his native country and become a winemaker himself.
Passionate and determined, Antoine took over the reins of Domaine du Bouchot at the end of 2019. The vines, some of which are more than 70 years old, sit on limestone-clay soils. Organic and biodynamic methods are used in the vineyards as well as in the cellars with the estate being fully certified. After harvesting the grapes entirely by hand, low-intervention vinification methods are used to craft the wine. Fermentation is started by natural yeasts and sulphur is used in minute quantities.
Domaine du Bouchot offers exquisite wines, sincere and rich that reflect the terroir and are burst with fruit aromas.
