Information
Invergordon is one of very few grain distilleries in the north of Scotland, near the port. Traditionally, this type of distillery is more likely to be found in the Lowlands due to supply and logistics considerations. Invergordon began operations in 1961, two years after Invergordon Distillers was founded, in a period when Scotch whisky was becoming more popular, particularly in North America. The distillery was bought by Whyte & Mackay in 1993.
A single cask Invergordon 25 year old (#8997) distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2013. Berry Bros & Rudd was founded in 1698, making it the oldest independent bottler in Great Britain. It has supplied wines and spirits to the British Royal Family since King George III, and today has two Royal Warrants. Berry Bros & Rudd is still a family-run company, managed by the descendants of the Berry and Rudd families.
