Information
Nestling in the heart of the Montagny premier cru appellation in Buxy, Burgundy, the domain also cultivates vines near Loché, Montagny and Mercurey. After initially struggling to raise the necessary funds, the winemaker acquired his first vines in 1997 and, by 2006, had over five hectares of vines. The domain now spans 18 hectares and has relocated to the sumptuous Château de Buxy, where a spectacular tasting cellar worthy of this exceptional terroir has been built. With a view to producing perfectly balanced terroir wines, the winegrower tends his soils with limited additives and obtained the Terra Vitis label (the equivalent of the French High Environmental Value (HVE) certification). This method enables the vine roots to delve deep into the soil, drawing out the essential nutrients to produce premium quality grapes. In the winery, Laurent vinifies according to the purest Burgundy tradition, to express the flavours and specific characteristics of this renowned terroir.
