About the producer

Named in tribute to Napoleon, who is said to have cried “this spirit will be my favourite” when he first tasted the spirit, the La Favorite distillery is located at the entrance to Fort de France, Martinique. Founded in 1842, Habitation La Favorite originally produced cane sugar. When it was bought by Henri Dormoy, it was modernized and turned into a distillery. It was equipped with a steam machine which is still in service today. Production is aged primarily in ex-cognac casks.

About the wine

La Favorite Privilège is a blend of rhum agricoles aged for 30 and 35 years and assembled by the cellar master. It is currently the oldest rum produced by La Favorite. A limited edition of 2,500 bottles all filled, labelled and sealed by hand.
