Information
Invergordon is one of very few grain distilleries in the north of Scotland, near the port. Traditionally, this type of distillery is more likely to be found in the Lowlands due to supply and logistics considerations. Invergordon began operations in 1961, two years after Invergordon Distillers was founded, in a period when Scotch whisky was becoming more popular, particularly in North America. The distillery was bought by Whyte & Mackay in 1993.
An Invergordon 43 Year Old distilled in 1972 and bottled in 2016 by Lars-Goran Wiebers, owner of Jack Wiebers Whisky World, a German importer that has released its own bottlings since 1998. Wiebers Brothers is a collaboration with his brother Sven, who designed the label. A limited edition of 120 bottles.
