Information
Marnier is owned by the Marnier Lapostole group, born from the marriage in 1876 of Louis-Alexandre Marnier and the granddaughter of Jean-Baptiste Lapostole, a liqueur producer who had opened a distillery in Beauphle-le-Château in 1827. A few years later, in 1890, Louis-Alexandre invented a cognac and bitter orange and cognac liqueur renamed Grand Marnier by the famous hotel-owner César Ritz, having first being released as Curaçao Marnier. The liqueur quickly became a hit and left a lasting impression on consumers. In 2016, the brand was bought by the Campari group.
Léas Extra is a blend of cognacs from Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne, the most prestigious crus in the appellation. These eaux de vie were aged from 15 to 30 years in oak barrels.
