Information
The Bourgogne Grand Ordinaire appellation was introduced in 1937, bringing together all the everyday wines from across Burgundy. Bernard Van Berg drew inspiration from this widespread appellation to produce an authentic, flavoursome red wine exclusively made from Pinot Noir grapes. The winemaker favours organic farming methods, both in the vineyard and in the winery. All inputs and chemical fertilisers are banned, and he has adopted a gentler, more environmentally friendly approach to viticulture. The grapes are hand-picked and vinified with as little intervention as possible.
The cherry-red colour reveals a bewitching and expressive nose, characterised by ripe red fruit aromas combined with hints of leather. The delicious, perfectly balanced palate displays intense aromas of blackcurrant and liquorice, leading to an incredibly long finish. This is a cuvée promises pleasing tasting experiences from its early years.
