Information
Nicolas Renaud blends a little Picardan and Grenache Blanc with a large proportion of Picpoul Gris in this cuvée. This virtually extinct and forgotten grape variety is harvested from a parcel of 50-year-old vines and several plots climbing on limestone and sandy soils. The grapes are meticulously hand-picked at optimum ripeness. The winemaker opts for a gentle, low-intervention vinification process, with no added sulphur, to bring out the best in this excellent raw material. The Grenache Blanc and Picpoul Gris grapes are fermented in stainless steel vats with native yeasts, while the Picardan is aged in oak barrels.
This wonderfully aromatic white reveals a delightful bouquet of white and yellow fruit, complemented by light herbaceous notes. The dense, delicious mouthfeel is accentuated by a delicate acidity leading to an incredibly fresh finish.
