About the producer

A blended malt from Douglas Laing’s Remarkable Regional Malt range bringing together various Islay distilleries including Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and the iconic Port Ellen.

About the wine

Big Peat is part of the Regional Malts range, created in 2009 by Douglas Laing to promote the unique styles of each region. This expression is produced entirely from the Islay whiskies Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen. The other expressions in the range are Rock Island (formerly Rock Oyster) for the islands, Scallywag for Speyside, Timorous Beastie for the Highlands and Epicurean for the Lowlands. Douglas Laing was founded in 1948 by Fred Douglas Laing, primarily as a blending company but also as an independent bottler, an activity which grew over the years.
