Information
The Dillon distillery in Martinique is named after Count Arthur Dillon. A colonel serving under General Lafayette, Dillon stopped over in Martinique when his troops were on their way to fight the English in America. Legend has it that he fell in love with the owner of the Girardin habitation Marie-Françoise Laure de Girardin and that they married a few years later. After being destroyed on several occasions, the distillery was rebuilt in 1928 by Raphael Domergue and then bought by Bardinet (La Martiniquaise) in 1967.
Réserve Du Comte Arthur Dillon is an old oak-aged rum named after Count Arthur Dillon, a colonel serving under General Lafayette in the American War of Independence.
