Information
Founded in Weston in 1856, the McCormick distillery is the oldest distillery in Missouri. It was set up by Ben Holliday, who became one of the richest men in the United States after founding a line of courriers, including the famous Pony Express. Weston chose the site for its limestone spring discovered in 1804 during an expedition by Lewis and Clark, the first explorers to cross America to the Pacific Ocean. In 1942, the Holliday distillery was renamed McCormick. It produces a wide range of products, including bourbons, tequila, gin, whisky and vodka, and McCormick vodka is even one of the highest-selling vodkas in the world. McCormick’s specialities include Platte Valley, a maize whiskey bottled in a stone jug. For 160 years, the distillery has built its reputation on the quality of its spirits, which are produced with respect for traditional American methods but also at the cutting edge of innovation.
