Information
The Frida cuvée is a blend of Grenache and old Carignan vines (80 years old). The yield for this cuvée is very limited at 10 hectolitres per hectare. Grown organically, the vines are located at Piedmont des Albères, near to the Spanish border. Here the soil is thin, with granite and gneiss as its principal elements. The climate is influenced by the domain’s proximity to the Mediterranean Sea, less than 10 kilometres away.
The grapes are vinified with little intervention, meaning that there are no additives, and they ferment using wild yeasts. No sulphur is added, and the wine is neither filtered nor fined. It is bottled using gravity (no pump).
In the glass, this cuvée gives off notes of red fruit, fig, and quince. On the palate, it is complex and rich.
