About the producer

Chequers is a brand founded by John McEwan & Co which was particularly popular in the United States in the 1960s. The various bottlings, including the Deluxe and 12 Year Old, included a significant contribution from the Linkwood distillery.

About the wine

A Scottish blend produced by John McEwan & Co Ltd and bottled before 1975 for the Italian importer Darma Import. As the youngest whisky in this blend was aged for at least 12 years, the whiskies used in this blend could date from the early 1960s and probably including the Linkwood malt, as John McEwan held the distillery’’s operating license at the time. This brand was for awhile also imported by Samaroli, Brescia. Bottle equipped with a screw cap and cream foil seal covered in an Italian tax strip. Bottles numbered and signed.
