Information
Le Clos Marie is without doubt the Pic Saint-Loup's most beautiful domain, and among the most sought-after by switched-on connoisseurs. From their twenty or so hectares of vines, Christophe Peyrus and his wife Françoise Julien have achieved miracles since 1995. Their vines are biodynamically cultivated, with long, careful élevages. Each of their cuvées is very expressive, reflecting the full diversity of its terroir with its own highly individual style. The star of this already remarkable domain continues to rise. Definitely one to watch! Read more
An emblematic figure of the Pic-Saint-Loup area, Clos Marie has crafted a Languedoc rosé made exclusively from Grenache. The vines were grown traditionally with biodynamic-inspired methods in clay- and chalk-rich soil. The ground is ploughed to encourage microbial life and to encourage the vines to push deep for their nutrients. Pesticides and insecticides are banned.
In the glass we find a pink wine that exudes flavourful notes of red fruit and cherry. Its palate is dense with a rich profile that is lifted by a nice freshness. We recommend savouring this cuvée in its youth and serving it with a summery dish like gazpacho or a courgette tart.
