Information
Jean-François Germain forges the long tradition that precedes him with fervour and passion. His father Henri was modest, but he made a name for himself in Meursault thanks to his perseverance and exemplary work. The family owns 8 hectares of vines, making the wines especially coveted. It is recommended to leave them to age for some years due to their style. Produced in the pure tradition of the region, these wines can be somewhat austere in their youth, but they open up after a few years, revealing all the secretes of the Côtes de Beaune's finest Chardonnay.
The Chardonnay used to make this Meursault is grown in a terroir of clay and chalk, and benefits from thorough growing methods. Made to be aged for around a decade, this cuvée has a pale, yellow colour that develops a golden hue. Its aromatic bouquet gives off great finesse and complexity. It carries primary notes of white fruit, white flowers, elderberry, fern, and citrus. We then get a touch of honey and butter. All of this introduces a mouthfeel that is ample and dense, balanced by a lovely acidity. Since it persists on the palate, we recommend pairing this cuvée with equally flavourful dishes such as poultry in sauce with mushrooms or a cheese soufflé.
