Information
Gosset, whose ancestors have lived in Aÿ since 1484, is one of the oldest houses in Champagne (created in 1584 by Jean Gosset). Béatrice Cointreau passed the domain over to her brother Jean-Pierre in 2007. Gosset's speciality has become vinous, intense and powerful champagnes which age majestically. This is particularly true for their brilliant vintage cuvées and the cuvée Célébris. The house launched a new cuvée in 2007, a blanc de blancs with remarkable tension.
The Grand Blanc de Blancs is produced from vineyards in 15 different village from the Côte des Blancs (Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Cuis) up to the Côte des Noirs (Villiers-Marmery, Tours-sur-Marne, Trépail). The Chardonnay is matured on lees to protect it from premature oxidation. Malolactic fermentation is blocked, preserving the freshness and varietal aromas. The élevage lasts at least three years. The bubbles are fine and light, the palate very vibrant. The nose is mineral and floral, with white fruits also present on the palate. A highly elegant Champagne.
