Information
The Quevedo house is a family business which belongs to the up-and-coming generation of independent wine producers in the Douro Valley. Its wines achieved an international reputation in 1986, when Portugal joined the European Union and introduced new measures around exports.
This nectar is made from old, Portuguese varietals planted and vinified by the grandparents of the current producer, Claudia Quevedo, who judges this one of the best ports ever sold by the domain. The grapes were picked over 40 years ago then fermented in traditional containers known s ‘lagares’. Tawny port has a gold and amber hue to it. On the nose it is an aromatic explosion with notes of nut, dried fruit and honey. It has incredible length on the palate, held up by a heavy texture. With the oxidative vinification in mind, you can keep this port for several decades.
