Information
Domaine de la Vougeraie, which is located in Vougeot, was created in 1999 by the Boisset family by merging the different vines belonging to the family. The vineyard now has 34 hectares spread over 67 plots and 27 appellations, two-thirds of the surface being in Côte de Nuits, the rest in Côte de Beaune. The vineyard heritage is of a high quality with parcels of Charmes-Chambertin Les Mazoyères, Musigny, Clos de Vougeot, Corton-Charlemagne, and Les Damodes Bâtard-Montrachet. The vineyard is certified in organic farming. This domaine has risen to the best level and produces wines which combine concentration and finesse.
The Nuits-Saint-Georges parcel this wine comes from is located on a slope in the commune of Premeaux-Prissey. It is east-facing and Domaine de la Vougeraie owns 0.3 hectares of it. The soil is pebbly here, with red-tinged, clay-rich earth.
The domain works organically and biodynamically to encourage biodiversity and to give the best fruit possible. The result is an elegant cuvée with notes of fruit and leather. This is a generous wine to pair with a dish like game in sauce.
