Information
Created in 2005, the Pierre-Yves Colin Morey domaine extends over 6 hectares on the Saint Aubin and Chassagne-Montrachetet appellations. After learning about his father's domaine (Marc Colin), Pierre-Yves decided to start his own domaine with his wife Caroline Morey. Mentioned by the specialised press as one of the "most gifted winemakers of his generation" (Revue du Vin de France), his wines, mostly from Chassagne, Meursault and Saint Aubin, must be discovered. Pierre-Yves Colin runs this small domaine with his wife Caroline, completing the production by buying grapes (one third of the volume). In the vineyards, responsible and sustainable farming prevails and in the winery, vinification needs little intervention. One of the strong points of this field is the élevage, which is mainly in demi-muids and is very subtle. This name, widely recognised by fans and professionals, is undeniably a safe bet!
Judged by the RVF as ‘one of the most gifted vinifiers of his generation’, Pierre-Yves Colin comes from a long line of wine makers. In 2005, he decided to strike out on his own by founding his own domain. With 11 hectares worked very carefully, he produces wines that are racy and elegant. The grapes are harvested by hand and are vinified traditionally. The maturation process is the domain’s strong point, using large containers like demi-muids and avoiding stirring, fining and filtering. This cuvée gives off lovely floral hints on the nose. It has a taut palate that really hits the taste buds. There’s no need to wait too long to age this cuvée – it can be enjoyed very soon.
